The Ohio Educational Library Media Association is proud to partner with Bio-Med Science Academy in Rootstown, Ohio to offer a one day professional development event. Workshop presenters and interactive exhibitors include teachers, administrators, professors, students, and professionals from some of the most well respected educational and community agencies in Ohio.

The Innovative Learning Spaces Educonference is designed for school librarians, technology leaders, teachers, administrators, and youth services librarians.

This one day conference addresses four topics.

  1. Makerspaces and Schools

  2. Innovative Design

  3. Technologies for InnovativeTeaching and Learning

  4. Advocacy through Innovation

The highlight of the event is  a 90-minute interactive, maker keynote by Leslie Preddy. All workshops are participatory and attendees will walk away with something from each session. Where else can you find this in Ohio right now?

Share what you learn with your fellow teachers, librarians, and technology staff:

Give our EduConference even more value by offering to bring back what you’ve learned to share with those you work with daily! Sessions handouts and presentation materials will be posted online so you can easily provide information and take-aways to those in your PLCs or PLNs.

You can’t beat the cost:

It would normally cost around $180-$200 to attend and earn credit hours for this event based on most universities' cost for post-graduate workshops. This EduConference is a great price when compared with other educational courses and offerings.  We are aware that we are all on tight personal and professional budgets, and many of us do not get professional development funding through our schools and/or libraries, so every dollar counts!  OELMA wants to stretch your dollar as wide as we possibly can to get the most out of your money and time.

Network with your peers:

Expand your professional learning network and have fun while you do it! OELMA is a great organization full of creative minds and resourceful school librarians from all over the state of Ohio (with many years of experience). Use this EduConference as a way to connect with others and learn from the experts in the field of innovation, technology, and makerspaces.
